FO: Saxifrage

When I saw Rachel Coopey’s book, Coop Knits Socks, which was published in April 2013, it was love at first sight. The vibrant colours, the beautiful cabled and textured socks, plus a little bit of colourwork? I was sold.

Saxifrage is the first pattern I have knit from this book, thanks in large part to a KAL being hosted by Rachel Coopey on her Ravelry group. A KAL is such a great way to get motivated! So, in keeping with my New Year’s Resolution to knit with the good stuff, I busted out some Wollmeise Twin sock yarn for this sock knitting occasion. I knit these socks on 2.25 mm to get a nice tight gauge. I want these socks to last!

I knit these socks one at a time, since they were pretty chart-y and the left and right sock were different (my brain can only handle so much). I do find that cabled patterns can initially be intimidating, but once you get a few rows in, it is really not so bad. This pattern was very intuitive to follow, and I am really pleased with the result. Link to my Ravelry page here.

Love these socks! So glad I took the time to make them. Knitting these was such a pleasure. I am so looking forward to knitting another Rachel Coopey pattern.
